Message from the Executive Director:

Sorry I've been MIA on the site lately!  It's been quite the eventful year with the funding crisis and personal issues.  In November, my husband and I found out we were expecting a baby.  Our due date was August 6, 2008.  This pregnancy turned out to be a rough one with a couple months of bed rest and going into preterm labor at 32 weeks which required almost 2 weeks of hospitalization.  If you know me, it's hard to keep me still, but I was forced to slow things down and step away from everything other than my family and the baby.  I was out of the hospital for only 1 week and our baby decided to come early anyway!   So, our daughter made her grand entrance into the world 5 weeks early and had to spend some time in the NICU.  She's finally home and we are settling in.  I can now devote some time to Spokane Smiles again.  Lori Ullman and Jana Farmer are in charge of the picnic this year.  I will be there with our newest family member.  I look forward to seeing you at the picnic this year as we have a fantastic year to celebrate!  We really made a difference in our state and that's something to be proud of!  Hope to see you soon!
